Smiles Africa’s first outreach brought food, clothing, play and companionship to children at Abangoh Orphanage in Bamenda.
Smiles Africa’s first outreach began with a visit to Abangoh Orphanage in Bamenda. The team arrived with food and clothing, ready to spend time with the children and share the care that inspired the organisation’s beginning.
The visit made room for games, conversation and words of encouragement. The children also entertained their visitors, creating a day of giving and receiving that went beyond the items the team had brought.
During the visit, the matron, Reverend Sister Manka Jane, prayed with the team and offered her blessing. Volunteers left grateful for the welcome they had received and the time shared with the children.
This first gathering holds a special place in the Smiles Africa story. It brought a purpose into everyday action: food shared, children listened to and time offered with an open heart.
Thank you to the people whose generosity made this beginning possible. From this first visit, sharing our love became something we could do together.
