Two young people spent two days exploring everyday digital tools with patient, hands-on guidance in Bakweri Town, Buea.
A heartfelt account of the people and communities at the heart of this work.
On 18 and 19 September 2026, two young people joined Smiles Africa in Bakweri Town, Buea, for a practical introduction to digital tools. Across both days, trainer Mr. Stallone Eva guided them through activities they could try for themselves.
The workshop introduced spreadsheets, data entry, PowerPoint presentations and file management with Google Drive. Demonstrations and practical exercises gave each participant time to work with the tools and ask questions along the way.
The small gathering allowed personal attention and direct support. Each participant took part on both days, moving from an introduction to digital literacy into hands-on work with presentations, calculations and online files.
The heart of the workshop was the time people gave to one another: a trainer sharing his knowledge and young people making room to learn something new.
Thank you to Mr. Stallone Eva and the Smiles Africa Buea team for creating this learning space. Every opportunity to practise a new skill begins with someone willing to offer encouragement.
