Food, hygiene supplies and time to listen brought practical care to more than 100 people in Bocom IV, Douala.

In Bocom IV, Douala, Smiles Africa volunteers reached more than 100 people with food, hygiene supplies and a listening ear. The outreach stood alongside families who had been displaced, offering practical care with respect and compassion.
The team shared rice, beans, oil, groundnuts, garri, sugar, milk and other food items, together with soap, sanitising supplies and personal hygiene essentials. Volunteers also offered guidance on hygiene and wellbeing.
Alongside the distribution, community members had time to speak with the volunteers and share their experiences. Listening was part of the visit, as much as the food and supplies.
The outreach brought people together through an everyday expression of solidarity: showing up, offering what could be shared and treating each person with care.
Thank you to the volunteers and supporters who made this gathering possible. Your generosity reached people through both practical support and the human connection that accompanied it.
