Food and everyday essentials were at the centre of Smiles Africa’s We for Them outreach in Rwanda.
In 2020, Smiles Africa’s We for Them project in Rwanda centred on a simple expression of care: sharing food and everyday essentials.
The project brought together rice, beans, porridge, sugar and cooking oil, alongside soap and kitenge cloth. These practical items were the heart of an outreach focused on everyday needs.
Food and household essentials are part of ordinary life. Sharing them can also be a personal gesture of solidarity, offered with respect for the people receiving them.
We for Them forms part of Smiles Africa’s history of community care in Rwanda. It reflects the spirit behind our work: people bringing what they can share, and making care for others something practical.
Thank you to everyone whose generosity supported this outreach. Each contribution helped turn a shared concern for others into everyday essentials that could be offered with love.
