Children and families gathered at Root Bilingual School for school supplies, encouragement and a shared celebration of learning.
On 1 August 2021, children and families gathered at Root Bilingual Nursery and Primary School in Bepalle, Bonaberi, Douala, for a day centred on education and encouragement. Smiles Africa and Inspire For Peace came together to share school bags and stationery with children in the community.
Teachers, volunteers and partner representatives welcomed the children and spoke with them about learning, reading and the possibilities education can open. Songs and time together added to the gathering.
School supplies were distributed to the children present. Parents, pupils and a school representative also shared their appreciation for the visit.
Beyond the bags and stationery, the gathering offered a message of support: children’s education matters, and there are people willing to stand beside them as they learn.
We thank Inspire For Peace, the school community, volunteers and supporters who brought this day to life. Their shared effort turned a school visit into a warm expression of care for children and their futures.
