Program began:
Beginning in January 2022, Smiles Africa’s school-feeding initiative in Ntankah, Mankon, brought meals and encouragement into children’s school days.

In January 2022, Smiles Africa began a feeding program for children at a community school in Ntankah, Mankon, Bamenda. The purpose was close to everyday life: to help children have food during the school day and encourage them to keep coming to school.
A project update shared on Smiles Africa’s official YouTube channel in June 2023 described a routine of two meals a day, five days a week. The update offered a glimpse of children gathered in their school setting, with meals becoming part of the rhythm of learning.
Support for the initiative included corn, rice, spaghetti, flour, cooking oil, beans and soybeans, along with plates, cups and cutlery. These everyday provisions helped put the school-feeding activity into practice.
At the heart of the project was a wish to stand beside children in their education. A meal at school was one practical way to bring care into that journey.
Thank you to everyone who shared food, supplies and support. Your generosity became part of the school day, carrying encouragement through a simple act of kindness.
