On 29 May 2026, Smiles Africa joined Inclusive Edge, Life In Organisation and Pa Anthony Nkwain’s Foundation at Government Technical Training College, Fundong, for Pad a Girl Child. The outreach marked World Menstrual Hygiene Day under the theme “End Period Poverty in Schools.”
Led by Inclusive Edge, the gathering welcomed more than 72 girls and young women for menstrual health education and the sharing of sanitary pads. Facilitators made room for open conversation about the menstrual cycle, personal care and reproductive health.
The activity brought information and practical support into the same space. Participants received educational resources and had an opportunity to ask questions and speak about menstrual health. A male student also joined the awareness conversation.
A campus pad-bank was established as part of the outreach, creating a source of sanitary products for female students at the school.
We thank Inclusive Edge, our fellow partners, the school community and everyone who took part. Together, they helped make a space where menstrual health could be discussed with openness, care and respect for every participant’s dignity.
